How many water tankers do I need to fill my pool?

Each tanker carries 12,000 litres. Once you know your pool's volume, you can quickly tell how many trips are needed.

The basic sum

Divide your pool's litres by 12,000 and round up. For example, a 30 m³ pool (30,000 litres) needs 2.5 tankers, which means 3 trips. The last trip may carry less water; we adjust this when preparing the quote.

Approximate table

  • 20 m³ (20,000 litres): 2 tankers.
  • 30 m³ (30,000 litres): 3 tankers.
  • 40 m³ (40,000 litres): 4 tankers.
  • 50 m³ (50,000 litres): 5 tankers.
  • 60 m³ (60,000 litres): 5 tankers.
  • 80 m³ (80,000 litres): 7 tankers.

These are rounded figures, for reference only. The actual volume depends on your pool's dimensions and average depth.

How to work out your pool's litres

For a rectangular pool: length × width × average depth, in metres, and the result is in m³. Each m³ is 1,000 litres. If it is round or oval, use our calculators, which give you the litres and the tankers.

If the pool already has water

If you only want to top up or raise the level, work out how many centimetres are missing: each centimetre of level equals as many litres as the pool has square metres of surface. That tells you whether a single trip is enough.

Continuous filling

So that the pool fills continuously, we arrange the trips back to back over a single working day. We agree the day and time with you.
